East Pilsen & 1-90 South, Chicago, Illinois 2022. East Pilsen is home to one of the largest Latino concentrations in the Midwest, beginning in the 1960s after being driven out of the Near West Side due to the construction of the Eisenhower Expressway. Today the neighborhood is rapidly gentrifying, due to its proximity to downtown and despite I-90 going straight through it.
